An AP article claims that the State Department is concerned that “Americans are joining the bloody civil war in Syria, raising the chances they could become radicalized by Al Qaeda-linked militant groups and return to the U.S. as battle-hardened security risks.”
In other words, young men between the ages of 25-40, living in America, pack their bags, leave work, family, and home, fly overseas through at least two countries to arrive in Syria, after somehow making contact with Syrian rebels, who most likely are AQ linked or associated mujahideen, get trained in guerrilla warfare, go out and start fighting, oftentimes slaughtering innocents, especially Christians, and our federal officials are worried that this might “rais[e] the chances they could become radicalized….”
Go figure.
